The Chief Service Officer's Guide to Service Revenue A wise person who chose to stay anonymous once said, "Revenue is vanity, margin is sanity, cash is reality." There are many iterations of that postulation, but it is often referred to in books and journals to highlight where the true focus of business should be. There is no argument about the importance of cash and margins to the overall sustainability of any business, not just one that services and maintains assets or products. However, more organizations, specifically those in the service sector, are beginning to look at top line revenue to help them stabilize and improve overall margins. This was confirmed at Aberdeen's 2009 Chief Service Officer Summit where revenue was stated to be the top goal for 2010.

Delivering High Quality Service and Profitable, Sustained Growth: Achieving the Impossible Dream? Success in service is defined by delivering consistently, reliably and with high quality. Mobile Network Access Control Extending corporate security policies to mobile devices - NetMotion Mobility XE™ features an optional Network Access Control (NAC) module that provides security controls to intelligently extend corporate security policies to mobile devices, including laptops, tablets, handheld devices and Smartphones, without adversely impacting mobile worker productivity. By incorporating the NAC module in a Mobility XE deployment, network administrators can control whether a client device connects to a Mobility server based on the client device’s compliance to pre-defined security rules.
|
Wireless Network Quality of Service One of the most common failures in mobile deployments is an element entirely out of the hands of enterprise IT management – constrained bandwidth on the public wireless networks. While there are management tools that allow control over bandwidth usage on private (managed) networks, most mobile workers rely on at least one and often more than one cellular data network to access their corporate information and applications. To keep their mobile workers productive, enterprises are looking to Quality of Service (QoS) tools to ensure that mission critical applications and data operate efficiently regardless of the wireless network in use. Without QoS, all VPN traffic is treated equally and the most sensitive applications are vulnerable to delay. Packet loss recovery (PLR) improves the quality and performance of real-time application transmissions such as VoIP, video, web conferencing and instant messaging, by automatically replacing lost or missing packets without having to re-transmit them. As a result, Mobility XE can maintain much higher transmission quality than traditional IPSec or SSL VPNs, even on wireless
networks.
