We recently noticed what appeared to be a drilling operation taking place on the river Thames in the centre of London. It consisted of a work platform that gradually worked its way from one side of the river to the other, between the Blackfriars road and rail crossings. Unfortunately the noise of traffic, trains and river activity prevented verbal contact with the engineers and none of the magazine’s staff could be persuaded to get wet in the line of duty, so we thought an appeal to the industry might satisfy our curiosity. Can anyone shed light on the details of the operation? It was obviously fairly complex and involved a number of engineers and support staff. If you know the name of the company – or companies – and departments involved, we would very much to hear from you. Please email dflower@cmpi.biz or call 020 7921 8418. |
