The service, which is accessed through a mobile phone, is intended to allow staff in dangerous or threatening situations to alert colleagues. The service is to be provided by MobileSOS. A speed-dial number is pre-selected on the mobile phone. When pressed it sends a personal, pre-recorded message, along with their location. It is sent to five nominated contacts, via voice, text and email. The message and contact list can be changed at any time, and as often as is needed. Neil Saunders of WSE said: ‘We take our duty of care very seriously, and were impressed by the MobileSOS service which helps to protect them when they are away from the office. MobileSOS now gives them an extra level of security.’ The service also offers a time based function that will trigger an alert if it is not cancelled by the user in an agreed time span. WSE is also recording the emergency call and then relays the information on to a further nominated contact. www.mobilesos.co.uk
