According The Mobile Usage Survey 2005* corporate data such as customer contacts, email details, passwords and bank account detail are vulnerable to ‘common thieves, opportunists, hackers or competitors’. A user’s identity could also be stolen putting other corporate information at risk. The survey found that 78% of users do not encrypt the information on their PDA or Smartphone. This year 22% reported they had lost a device (up from 16% last year). Most though were not stolen left in taxis, airport lounges or on trains. *Conducted by Pointsec Mobile Technologies and SC Magazine.
