Symbol Technologies, a US enterprise mobility company, has just announced the awarding of a new contract to SAP to implement a consolidation of its existing IT systems.

Symbol, like many companies, is looking to make savings by integrating the different business applications its departments use, thus reducing the silo effect many companies suffer from.

The service management oriented corporation wanted an enterprise resource planning solution that would transform enable them to execute their corporate strategy, according to John G. Bruno, Symbol senior vice president of business development and CIO.

‘Point solutions offered by other vendors were not an option, as we knew they would pose far greater complexity and integration problems,’ he added.
