SME visit pays off for Smith & Nephew

Just two months after visiting Service Management Europe 2005, the service industry’s only exhibition, Smith & Nephew, the healthcare equipment giant, has chosen Vixensoft's Univix solution to support the management of its service operation.

The company went to the show to assess the vendors of resource planning applications and mobile data technology.  After some demonstrations, it chose Univix. Russell Barton, sales & marketing manager (Service) at Smith & Nephew, said: ‘The software provides a simple, effective and affordable package that will enhance the performance of our expanding field service team. I have been impressed with the Univix solution and also the approach of the company.’

Univix is due to be implemented in February and will be used to manage the work of Smith & Nephew engineers servicing endoscopy equipment at hospitals across the UK. 

The company's endoscopy business unit is the world leader in arthroscopy, minimally invasive surgery for articulating joints. The company offers surgeons instruments for access to joints, cameras to help allow visualisation inside the joint, and state-of-the-art blades for resecting tissue alongside specialised devices to repair damaged tissue. Servicing of equipment is a vital component in the continued delivery of equipment of the highest quality.
