Described more formally as ‘an integrated, adaptable business management solution that increases the impact people can have on their organisations by providing them with a role-based user experience that fits with their existing systems’, Microsoft Dynamics GP is the first output of the company’s much trumpeted software transformation exercise, Project Green. Included in this product are 21 role-based desktops, an Office-like user interface and ‘deeper integration’ with its CRM (customer relationship management) product expected by the end of the year. It also features some 170 enhancements including field service, financial management, distribution, manufacturing, human resources management and payroll. ‘The innovation in Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0 really delivers on research we've done with our customers about what drives competitive advantage in their organisations,’ said Lynne Stockstad, general manager of Microsoft Dynamics GP at Microsoft. ‘They want innovative products and services that help individuals within their organisations be more empowered, connected and insightful with tools that adapt to their unique business processes. Microsoft Dynamics GP offers users a total solution implementation that helps deliver a low total cost of ownership and fast return on investment, and gives our channel partners new opportunities to extend the solution to meet customers' specific industry needs.’
