Systems integration company, CIBER, has reportedly signed a deal to buy a majority stake of 67% in Novasoft, a Heidelberg based international consultancy specialising in the implementation of SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) products. Started in 1989, Novasoft claims to have become one of SAP's leading integrators for the retail, automotive, chemical/pharmaceutical and manufacturing sectors. As a SAP partner, Novasoft implements all its Enterprise Resource Planning products, including mySAP.com products and industry-specific applications. Founding partners of Novasoft, Drs. Laszlo Gotthard and Georg Konrad, who have sold their stakes in the company to CIBER, will continue to run the business and be responsible for its long-term SAP relationships with blue-chip customers, including Bayer, BASF, B&Q (UK), The Big Food Group (UK), Volkswagen, Allianz, BMW, Nokia and others. CIBER has worked hard over the last few years to find the appropriate time and company to enter the German marketplace, says company CEO, Mac Slingerlend. ‘This transaction significantly rounds out our strategic go-to-market programs for Europe. We will now have approximately 1,300 employees in nine European countries. SAP, Sage products and bespoke IT systems for several industries and the government sector,’ he told service management reporters.
