Business software provider, SSA Global, has announced the release of a new version of its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) product.
SSA ERP(LN) v 6.1, which the company says substantiates its ongoing commitment to deliver strong ERP solutions and protect existing customers' investments, features a web-based interface for transition to service-oriented architecture. Also included, according to SSA, is a manufacturing capability, including freight management, as well as a field service capability. In addition, the company says that it has embedded specific solution templates for its primary target industries, which include aerospace & defence, hi-tech electronics and industrial machinery and equipment.
Customers feedback was instrumental in providing re-development and early adopter stage information for ERP(LN) 6.1, enabling the company to focus on delivering what was necessary for enterprises to run a smoother and leaner businesses, says Cory Eaves, corporate vice president of solutions management and research at SSA Global. ‘SSA ERP(LN) 6.1 provides a clear upgrade and migration path for thousands of our SSA Baan, SSA MANMAN/HP and SSA MK customers,’ he added. Also speaking at the launch of the new software was Tony Williams, global ERP/IT manager for Telair, who told IT journalists that SSA ERP(LN) has enabled his company to gain return on investment, deliver real-time information on the state of its business, and reduced costs through increased efficiency. ‘Its functional design and modern architecture creates a platform to accelerate our future growth and collaboration with our suppliers and customers,’ he added. |
