The UK distributor for Komatsu construction equipment, Marubeni-Komatsu, has awarded a contract valued at approximately £600,000 to Geac, a global enterprise software company. Marubeni-Komatsu provides equipment warranty and service support contracts for fourteen sites across the UK and Ireland. Customers are allowed to select from a vast range of support contracts, which has resulted in a complex customer support environment. Aurora provides an integrated, real-time view of each customer contract, which will enable Marubeni-Komatsu to enhance the level of service it provides to its customers. The contract includes Aurora, which the software company says will provide integrated financial, distribution, service and job management software to drive efficiency. Also included in the contract is System21 Performance Analyser, which will provide Marubeni-Komatsu with the management tools to control, monitor and enhance operational performance throughout the organisation. Keith Bell, finance director for Marubeni-Komatsu, told SM365 that System21 provides control and understanding of cost and performance standards for maintenance and support offerings. 'Geac is a large and financially stable organisation with a proven track record, which was a crucial part of our decision,' he added.
