Comtek, which has repair centres in the UK, Germany, Holland and USA, has previously worked as a repairer for Cisco, Nortel, 3Com and Extreme Networks. Now Axis customers will first contact Axis technical support for first level fault diagnosis. If needed, and authorised by Axis, customers will contact Comtek and return the product for repair. All Comtek repairs ‘typically carry’ a full year warranty. Axis Communications has also increased the warranty period on its network video products from one to three years. Anders Laurin, executive vice president of corporate strategy, Axis Communications, said: ‘Axis specialises in professional, network video solutions and this extended warranty coverage—which is provided at no additional cost to our customers—strengthens the value of our offering to the professional security market. The new warranty provides end users, systems integrators and resellers with secure, trouble-free ownership and better control of total costs.’
