Flower's previous experience includes editing trade publications for industries such as furniture manufacturing and retailing, in addition to working on a freelance basis for a number of titles. Before joining SM he edited Carpet & Flooring Review and TileUK. These were also part of the CMPi portfolio, to which SM and its publisher, Ithaca Business Media, now also belong.
Mark Turner, who edited SM until the 2007 July/August issue, is now the magazine's publisher. "I'm very much looking forward to the new challenge of working within the field service industry," said Flower. "I've already received excellent support from the team and am keen to continue building on the magazine's excellent reputation."
