RECRUITMENT ADVERT - Service Network Manager

The best products deserve the best service

Sony's name is internationally renowned for innovation and quality. And to maintain our reputation and world no.1 position, we must continually ensure that our network of Authorised Service Centres provides the best possible service for all our customers. With this in mind, we are seeking to recruit a Service Network Manager to control our UK consumer products service infrastructure and assist in setting policy direction.

A seasoned professional, you will proactively monitor business trends and propose future commercial & repair handling strategy. Sony provides a wide range of support for the Authorised Service Centre network, and another crucial part of your remit will involve liaising with various sections of the Sony Service organisation to make certain that the standard of technical advice, training and other aspects of support is sustained and developed.

You will also foster and maintain a close rapport with colleagues outside the service division, including Sales and Marketing, providing them with expertise and support, as well as liaising with national accounts, key service agents, and retailers, in order to maintain effective working relationships, negotiate terms and to ensure that our mutual customers receive the correct level of service.

A team of three field-based Regional Service Executives will report to you. They monitor and provide information on the service network, assess the performance of individual businesses, evaluate new account applications and provide all the support these companies

need to meet our current and future standards & technology requirements. A Service Support Controller will also report to you, responsible for the management of third-party centralised repair facilities.

This is a challenging role calling for extensive knowledge of the brown goods service industry and experience of a fast moving customer-facing environment. You will need strong negotiation, influencing, communication and organisational abilities. The role also calls for analysis and problem-solving skills, as well as computer literacy. The position is not field-based, but travel within the UK and some in Europe is expected. Likely to have been in a management role for at least the past five years, you will also have a technical background in consumer electronics - full City & Guilds 224, or HND or equivalent, plus 5-10 year's bench or field service experience.

In return, we can offer you all the career opportunities and financial rewards you would expect from a company of our size & prestige.
