Utility IT CRM provider, Salesboom.com, has announced that a new project management feature has been added to its list of online facilities. The new system will be available to current customers immediately, and is to be released to the public in the coming weeks. The new online program includes features expenditure tracking and resource management, for what Salesboom claim is a fraction of the cost of traditional software. Facilities provided by the new system include pre-project data input, including the task planning, with linked resource delegation, as well as giving cost estimates for each task as well as the entire project. Once the task and resource information is entered, a bar graph can be generated to represent the project timeline, showing the start and completion date for each task. Expenditures can be added to the project after buying supplies or making other purchases. Once the project begins, Salesboom says that regular updates to the data can be made as tasks are completed, resources are added and expenses are incurred. With fierce competition in the on demand CRM market from such companies as SalesForce.com, Siebel OnDemand, Salesnet, RightNow and Netsuite, Salesboom says it is hoping that the new product will help it to get ahead of its rivals. The result, the company hopes, will be a greater share of the marketplace. Project Management is becoming more and more desirable for SME’s, says Justin Webster, VP of Business Development. ‘There’s a growing need in the market for an integrated Project Management tool offered with CRM/SFA applications. Salesboom has addressed this need and incorporated the solution into its already highly functional, web-hosted CRM / SFA service,’ he told SM365.
