SSL International, makers of Durex condoms and Scholl footcare products, has awarded Kingston Communications a two year, £1m contract, to provide voice and data services. Under the terms of the new contract, Kingston will provide inbound and outbound call services across 11 sites, maintaining and supporting SSL's telephone network, which consists primarily of Nortel Networks Meridian and Avaya INDeX systems. The two year contract - which was won following a competitive tender involving BT, Worldcom, AT&T, Colt Telecom and Streamline - will also see Kingston providing ADSL for home workers and Internet connectivity. Noelle Jackson of SSL feels that working with Kingston will provide them with a single point of contact for back up. ‘Because we can call on experts at any time, we can focus on day-to-day issues,’ she added.
