Salesforce.com has delivered its second quarter results, claiming that its revenue for the period has increased by 88% to $40.6m compared to $21.6m for the same period last year. As well as the increased profit figures the web-based CRM business told investors and the business media that it had also added 1,300 customers and 21,000 paying subscribers in the quarter. The second quarter figures break down into $36m in subscription and support revenue, an increase of 84% on last year, and $4.6m in professional services and other revenues, an annual increase of 125%. The company is delighted to be able to announce the strong results during a difficult period for the software industry, says Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO of salesforce.com. ‘Our growing numbers speak for the growing acceptance of the on demand computing model,’ he added. |
